Reducing our carbon footprint in line with science
We have set ambitious science-based targets to reduce our Scope 1, 2 and 3 CO2 emissions by 2030, using the methodology
of the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi). This climate trajectory, aligned with a 1.5°C pathway and currently under
review by the SBTi, has been made possible through a carbon footprint assessment of our hotels, headquarters, and
key suppliers to have a good understanding of the drivers behind our most carbon-intensive activities.
Our climate strategy
In 2023, B&B HOTELS expanded its carbon footprint assessment, revealing industry-low emissions of 1 kg CO₂ per room. Aligned with the Paris Agreement, our 2030 decarbonization plan targets energy efficiency, renewable energy, and supplier collaboration.

Empowering our communities
At B&B HOTELS, we extend our commitment to the communities in which we operate. Community involvement is mainly carried out on a regional level to strengthen each hotel’s local presence and respond to the needs of its communities. These regional initiatives are led by hoteliers to support local sports, medical research or cultural events.
Fostering collaboration beyond our hotels
In 2023, B&B HOTELS partnered with Wings of Change to offer free 6-month hospitality training to underprivileged youth in Madagascar. Employees provided pro-bono sessions, covering industry essentials, benefiting students and their families.
